What is Taekwon-do ?
TAE-KWON-DO means “Art of Hand and Foot Fighting” and is a Korean martial art
founded by General Choi Hong Hi on April 11th, 1955. It is an exciting martial art known
for its strength, speed, dynamic kicking and the scientific use of the entire body for
self-defense. Taekwondo is much more than just physical fighting skills, it is a discipline
that enhances the spirit and soul through training the mind and body.
Taekwon-Do is made up of five main elements which includes, patterns, sparring, special
technique, power and self-defense.
Over the years, Taekwon-Do has rapidly grown in popularity and continues to do so and
is being taught in almost every country in the world.
